There is no real reason behind my number one except that I loved it from the first time I ever heard it and still try and play it at every disco that I do. It has become very popular at discos now and fortunately I have a lot of requests for it.

My number 1 first entered the charts on the 8th November 1975 and went to the number one spot. It stayed in the charts for 17 weeks. On the 21st December 1991 it came back in the charts and again went to number one. It stayed in the charts again for another 14 weeks.

Number 2. Mary Kiani is still virtually unknown. She is from the UK and this track entered the charts on the 23rd December 1995 and got no higher than number 35. It stayed within the charts for 4 weeks.

Number 3. This is of course Michael Jackson and this entered the charts on the 9th December 1995 and got to the number one spot and remained in the charts for 17 weeks. From February 1972 until July 1997 Michael spent 480 weeks on the charts.

My number 4 is by my absolute favourite artist. This track entered the charts on the 21st February 1998 and again reached the number one spot and stayed in the charts for 20 weeks. As you probably all know now she has become a Mum and has bowed out of the music industry for the time being.

Number 5 is Abba. This record entered the charts on the 15th November 1980 and reached the number one spot and remained in the charts for 12 weeks. They of course started their career at the Eurovision Song Contest in 1974 with their first ever hit called "Waterloo"

My number 6 is by the American duo Daryl Hall and John Oates. This track entered the charts on the 15th November 1980 but only reached its highest position of number 33. It stayed in the charts for 8 weeks.

Number 7 is the record I finish every disco with. It came into the charts on the 16th November 1991 but only managed its highest place of number 30 and stayed in the charts for 7 weeks.

My number 8 is by Diana Ross. I have liked her since the 60's. This track entered the charts on the 28th November 1992 and only reached its highest place of number 11 but stayed in the charts for 10 weeks.

Number 9 is Celine Dion again. This track came into the charts on the 21st December 1996 and reached its highest placing of number 6 and stayed there for 10 weeks. It then re-entered on the 15th March 1997 for a further 3 weeks.

Finally number 10 by Rod Stewart. This entered the charts on the 26th June 1993 and reached number 5 and stayed in the charts for 9 weeks

AJS MUSICAL MEMORY

My musical memory takes me back to 1964 when our local theatre in Walthamstow had their first live show. Appearing were Freddie and the Dreamers, Rolling Stones, Gerry and the Pacemakers and my biggest hero of all ADAM FAITH. (Please dont be sick lol). At the end of the show I queued for 2 hours to get Adams autograph and just as I got to near the front he had to leave so I begged the bloke on the door to get it for me and he did. It said "To Tony from Adam Faith" Who the hell was Tony????

That's 2 pages done. Lets see your TOP TEN on here very shortly. Email me at [email protected].
