Mog says " All these songs remind me of occasions and I would like you to bear that in mind because some of them might make you think that I have a strange taste in music" (never Mog !!!)

Number one was by T-Rex who were fronted by Marc Bolan. They had many hits from 1968 and were in the charts for a total of 235 weeks from 1968 until 1991
Mogs Comments: "I had pictures from Jackie magazines of Marc Bolan all over my walls for years and I thought he was the dogs ******"

Number 2 is by Gloria Jones. Unfortunately this was never a hit.
Mogs Comments: "I was probably only about 15 at the time and used to go to a club that was visited about a couple of times a year by lads from Edinburgh who were really into soul music. It was the first time I had ever seen boys completely dominate a dance floor and they were good."

Number 3 was by The Commodores. They were fronted by Lionel Richie and this entered the charts on the 5th August 1978 and went to the number 1 slot and remained in the charts for 14 weeks.
Mogs Comments: "Not the most embarrasing moment but probably on my top ten of them and it's the song that goes with it. I was in a cafe eating beans on toast while nameless from Wigan sang it to me. I was deeply embarrased. The cafe was full of holidaymakers. I went out later that night and when I got home I found him waiting for me so we went in and sat on the couch while he proposed to me. Maybe if I hadn't have had so much to drink I wouldn't have farted....but hey....that's life."

Number 4 was by Rickie Lee Jones. This entered the charts on the 23rd June 1979 and reached its highest place of number 18 and stayed in the charts for 9 weeks.
Mogs Comments: "This reminds me of being grounded for the longest time ever for being a smart ass. It wasn't getting caught with a love bite that did it.....it was saying "oh that's nothing...you should see the rest. I won't be able to wear a skirt for a fortnight" that clinched it. My mother didn't think that was funny lol."

Number 5 was by Kelly Marie. This entered the chart on the 2nd August 1980 and reached the number 1 spot. It stayed in the charts for a total of 16 weeks.
Mogs Comments: My friends and I all got dressed up and went for a wander. We got off the train at Carlisle and into the first pub we could find and Hallelujah we thought we had struck gold. We had never seen so many blokes in one place with only us females. How gormless could we be. That was my first experience of a gay pub....we had a ball lol lol

Number 6 was by M. This entered the charts on the 7th April 1979 and reached its highest place of number 2. It remained in the charts for 14 weeks
Mogs Comments: It was the kind of music that was being played at the time when I progressed from climbing up Mcconchies apple tree to doing a whole load of other stuff I shouldn't have been doing (I never used to get hangovers then). I suppose you don't if you don't stop drinking lol.

Number 7 is by The Kids from Fame. It entered the charts on the 2nd October 1982 and reached the number 3 slot and stayed in the charts for 10 weeks
Mogs Comments: I was about to have my first child and I wouldn't leave the house until Top of the Pops was finished. That was the last song I heard on the radio in the car before my son Darren was born.

Number 8 was by the Beautiful South. This was never in the Top 100 but from June 1989 until December 1998 they were in the charts for a total of 130 weeks.
Mogs Comments: This record has the perfect description of my youngest son Kieren.

Number 9 was by Nancy Sinatra. This entered the charts on the 27th January 1966 and got to the number 1 spot and remained in the charts for 14 weeks. Nancy, who is the daughter of Frank, did a duet with her Dad called "Somethin Stupid" in March 1967.
Mogs Comments:This makes me laugh. I have 2 boys and one is as bad as the other but my oldest, I suspect, actually believes he is Nancy Sinatra. When it's played the house could blow up and he would still be strutting round singing lol.

Finally number 10 by Tina Arena. This entered the charts on the 15th April 1995 and reached the number 6 place. It stayed in the charts for a total of 11 weeks.
Mogs Comments: I love this because I just get great vibes from it.
